Electrical Controls Engineer II

Summary

The Electrical Controls Engineer has the full responsibility for the implementation of manufacturing equipment projects and assignments.  The Electrical Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment can readily apply advanced techniques in the analysis and implementation of projects and assignments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

·         Responsible for defining and/or producing electrical related project narratives and other technical reports.

·         Responsible for the implementation of the manufacturing equipment strategy, ensuring advanced manufacturing solutions and automation controls are readily employed.

·         Responsible for generating and/or reviewing all technical electrical system analysis reports and or studies.

·         Responsible for interpretation, coordination and execution of projects and assignments, including equipment design, installation, commissioning and start-up, preparation of specifications, etc.

·         Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.

·         May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.

·         Advisor to cross-functional teams to address manufacturing equipment initiatives.

·         Responsible for providing technical support in assembling and presenting manufacturing equipment concepts and solutions.

·         Ensure electrical designs and components are aligned to production operations

·         Deputizes for local Manager, Manufacturing Equipment as required.

·         Coordinates with internal and external groups to support implementation of manufacturing equipment projects and assignments.

·         Responsible for ensuring that the applicable engineering aspects of the quality and safety requirements are implemented in accordance with Company and statutory requirements.

·         Implement industry best practices for High and Low Voltage distribution

·         Responsible for approving reports and other documents in accordance with Company procedures.

·         Fully capable in use of electronic drawing and design tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

·         Assist in troubleshooting automation, maintenance, and production equipment problems

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

High technical ability and analytical skills required.

·         Ability to operate within a multi-tasking dynamic team environment.

·         Aptitude to learning new design tools to broaden experience.

·         Ability to effectively present information and communicate at all levels.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Education and/or Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.

·         5-10 years as an Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing environment.

·         Project Management experience preferred. 

·         Mechanical engineering aptitude necessary.

Allen Bradley PLC Programming required.
