FlexSteel Connections for Faster Installation
Durable by Design:
Corrosion Resistant
Easily Installed
Cost-saving
Improved Performance
One mile of welded steel pipe has 132 joints; one mile of 6-inch, 1,500-psi FlexSteel pipe has just five connections.
Available in carbon steel, stainless steel or corrosion-resistant alloys, our midline and end fittings are designed, manufactured, and tested to API 15S standards, ensuring reliability. We frequently collaborate with customers to design and manufacture custom fittings.
FlexSteel pipe connections are swaged, eliminating the need for on-site welding and reducing the amount of equipment and crew members required. Since connections are only needed between each reel or coil of pipe, the installation process with FlexSteel is significantly faster. Installations can be performed by a FlexSteel technician or a FlexSteel-certified contractor.
FlexSteel pipe and connections are manufactured at our 420,000-square foot facility in Baytown, Texas.
How it Works
FlexSteel’s Swaging Process
FlexSteel’s swaging units use specialized hydraulic compression technology to form the steel walls of an end fitting or midline connection permanently onto the pipe wall. The swaging process provides a uniform, tight compression seal between two lengths of pipe and/or connections with other components.
The swaging equipment includes the press, a hydraulic power unit (HPU), a control system, and tooling. Swaging operations are well-suited for use in the factory or field environments. Swaging is simple and quick and creates fittings that are not sensitive to ambient temperature or cleanliness.

Weldneck Fitting
A weldneck fitting can be used to weld FlexSteel pipe to other standard components. Weldnecks are generally used when welded connections are preferred in lieu of bolted connections.
Features
Not sensitive to cleanliness or ambient air temperature
Weld to another weldneck fitting or other schedule 40 components
High-pressure SCH 80 end fittings available
Flanged Fitting
The flanged fitting is most often used to connect with other standard pipeline components, such as valves and other upstream/downstream connections.
Features
Swivel flange used for aligning bolts to other flanged components
Available in ASME B16.5 lapped or welded flange (raised face or RTJ)
Available in ANSI 300 to 1500 class
Midline Fitting
The most common of all of our connections, this fitting is used to connect two lengths of FlexSteel pipe together without having an intermediate flanged or welded joint.
Features
One-piece fitting with no welding or bolting flanges
Internal venting allows capture of any permeated gas
O-ring seals
Smooth tapered bore for pigging
Available for all pressure classes
Low-profile OD is ideal for rehabilitation, pipe repairs, and plowing
Specialty Fitting
From 90s to crosses, reducers, and tees, our highly skilled design engineers can create a fitting to meet unique challenges such as extreme terrain changes and connections to specialized equipment.
