Pipeline Rehabilitation

Converting liabilities into assets: Brand new pipelines at a fraction of the time and cost

When a pipeline is no longer fit for service, untapped potential still remains. Whether it be continuation of service or a complete change of scope, utilizing the existing infrastructure for pipeline rehabilitation can completely change the functional life of the asset.

Pipeline rehabilitation via insertion is FlexSteel’s quick, full replacement solution for existing infrastructure of any common pipeline material.

  • Installed quickly and safely – installation speeds exceeding 150 feet per minute

  • Minimally invasive – FlexSteel pipe’s bend radius eliminates the need for large excavation or ROW requirements

  • Restore – or exceed – maximum operating pressure of the system

  • Repurpose existing infrastructure to meet global low carbon emissions targets

  • Eliminate corrosion with FlexSteel’s thermoplastic liner and shield

  • Monitor Pipeline Integrity Real-Time using FlexSteel’s unique unbonded design

  • Successful service records in DOT-regulated applications (49 CFR, 192, and 195)

Long Pull Lengths

FlexSteel’s high tension ratings allow for pulls that often exceed the allowable length of the existing infrastructure. In some cases, pulls exceeding 2-miles in length are achievable.

Minimal Disruption to the Environment

Small footprint and class-leading bend radius allows FlexSteel pipe to greatly reduce surface requirements for installation. Combined with long pull lengths, new pipelines can be installed with a fraction of typical surface disturbance.

Navigating Regulatory Requirements

Pulling pipe through pipe is an efficient method for restoring pipelines under waterways and roads and in environmentally protected wildlife habitats. With a track record of success in 49 CFR applications, FlexSteel’s recognized quality helps tackle even the most challenging environments.

Steel-reinforced Pipe Structure

Utilizing FlexSteel pipe’s unbonded product design, integrity of the pipeline post insertion can be confirmed. Where applicable, this capability can be extended to real-time positive pressure integrity monitoring via SCADA systems.

Pipeline Integrity

Combining the benefits of HDPE and steel, the FlexSteel pipe offers unmatched product integrity in even the harshest operating conditions. With class-leading pressure and size combinations, FlexSteel pipe can solve even the toughest problems.
